On April 14, 2017, a house fire broke out at 4005 Illinois Street in Crystal Lake, covered by the Nunda Rural Fire Protection District. Steve Redick captured several photos of the emergency response, showing multiple fire departments on the scene. A Box Alarm was issued for tenders to supply water, highlighting the coordinated effort among agencies.
The images include a fire engine from the Crystal Lake Fire Department, a tender from Cary FPD, and a mini pumper from Nunda Rural FPD. Several engines, including Nunda Rural FPD Engine 41 and Engine 45, were seen responding to the incident. Additional support came from Grayslake FPD, Union FPD, Algonquin-Lake in the Hills, McHenry Township FPD, Round Lake FPD, Mundelein Fire Department Truck 431, Fox Lake FPD, and Fox River Grove FPD. Each unit played a critical role in managing the situation and ensuring the safety of the community.
