CFD LODD anniversary – Firefighter Ed Coglianese

Excerpts from DNAinfo.com:

On the very day the Chicago Bears claimed victory in Super Bowl XX, the city of Chicago mourned the loss of one of its own—Chicago Fire Lt. Edmond Coglianese.

Coglianese, a 42-year-old firefighter from Mount Greenwood, died while battling a fire at the Mark Twain Hotel on January 26, 1986. According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, he had already rescued two elderly residents from the third floor of the residential hotel at 111 W. Division St. before re-entering the five-story building to search for more survivors. Tragically, he became trapped by the flames and succumbed to smoke inhalation that day.

In total, 35 senior citizens were saved from the burning building using ladders, while another 100 people escaped through the stairways, as reported by the fire department.

A solemn bell-ringing ceremony was held at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Engine Co. 98, where Coglianese had served. The event honored his memory and recognized his dedication to protecting others. He left behind his wife, Eileen, and their two children, Allyson and Matt.

Eileen Coglianese is now the president of the Gold Badge Society, an organization dedicated to supporting families who have lost a firefighter or paramedic in the line of duty. Members of the society offer emotional support, help with funeral arrangements, manage media inquiries, and assist with other practical matters following such a tragic loss.

Their shared experiences provide comfort during one of the most difficult times a family can face. It's a powerful reminder of the deep bonds formed among those who serve and protect.

Thanks, Dan

Desilter

Desilter is the third phase solids control equipment to handle the drilling fluids. Generally, there are a set of hydrocyclones in 4" or 6" in the desilter, which mainly used for separating the solid particles sized in 15~47μm from the drilling fluids. The desilter cleaner mainly consists of Shale Shaker, hydrocyclones, distribution manifold, and electric control cabinet and desilter removes the solid particles from the drilling fluids which cannot be removed by shale shaker and Desander.
