Still & Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 2-12-17

Here's a message from Eric Haak:

On Sunday morning around 0605 hours, the Englewood Fire Alarm Office received multiple calls about a fire at the intersection of 44th and Shields Avenue. Engine 50 arrived first and confirmed a fire in a 2.5-story vacant frame building that had exposure to a 1.5-story occupied structure. Just two minutes later, the 2nd Battalion reported heavy fire in the 2.5-story building and requested a Box. The first image below was taken just before Engine 50 deployed their deck gun, which significantly reduced the visible flames on the front of the building. Fire had extended into the adjacent occupied structure, prompting an interior attack by crews. Later, Squad 5’s Snorkel and Tower Ladder 39 were brought in to finish extinguishing the remaining fire in the original building, which was undergoing renovations. An October 2015 Google Street View showed the building marked as Red-X, suggesting it had previously suffered a basement fire.
