Oscilloscope's correct selection criteria

The selection of an oscilloscope is a problem that seems simple and difficult for you to handle. There are many products on the market and the technologies vary. Based on years of experience, the oscilloscope has the following "rules of thumb":

The ART analog oscilloscopes select four factors: the price/performance ratio (comparative advantage of the price and product quality brand), the test bandwidth (5 times the rule of thumb), the number of channels (2 or 4), and the supplier capability (whether the after-sales service is guaranteed).

DSO digital storage oscilloscopes find a balance between test signal bandwidth, oscilloscope bandwidth, oscilloscope real-time sampling rate, and oscilloscope storage depth. The following experiences are available: oscilloscope bandwidth is preferably 5 times the signal bandwidth; oscilloscope real-time sampling rate is ≥ 4 times Oscilloscope bandwidth; memory depth ≥ sampling rate × maximum retention time required.

DPO digital-analog oscilloscopes are consistent with the DSO in terms of basic index requirements, but need to introduce two capabilities: screen refresh rate, waveform triggering and analysis capabilities.

Special function requirements. 1 If you need to work in the field and need battery power, the volume of the instrument is very strict. Besides the oscilloscope measurement, the function of the instrument needs other tests (such as the multimeter function). At this time, you are better to use a hand-held oscilloscope ( HSO). 2 If you are isolated or floating, safety cannot be guaranteed, and you need to analyze the power, phase shift, please use isolation oscilloscope (DIO), especially multi-channel DIO. 3 If you need multi-channel analog and digital signal mix testing, you should choose MSO hybrid oscilloscope besides oscilloscope with serial bus trigger function.
