From the Chi-Town Fire Photos:
I caught up with the incident last night at around 3:11 AM at 500 West 26th Street. It was a three-story ordinary structure that measured roughly 100 feet by 150 feet. The first responding units tried to launch an interior attack but struggled to locate the exact origin of the fire. Eventually, they switched to an exterior strategy and took a more defensive approach. At its peak, the firefight involved five handlines, multiple portable ground monitors, Squad 1, AT8, TL5, and TL10 to try and control the situation. I arrived approximately 45 minutes after the initial call. By then, the active companies were Engine 8 and Engine 29, along with Truck 4 and Truck 8.
