The newly established Guangxi Automobile Group plans to increase the business strength of auto parts and engines in the field of passenger vehicles, and to initially form an industrial scale for strategic emerging industries such as the development of new energy vehicles, auto remanufacturing, and automotive lightweight materials such as aluminum alloys. By 2020, it will achieve an annual sales volume of 3 million sets of spare parts, 400,000 engines and 100,000 complete vehicles, with an operating income of 30 billion yuan.

According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's auto sales reached 23.49 million units in 2014. It has been ranked as the world's first auto market for six consecutive years, but its per capita car ownership is lower than the world average, and the auto industry has entered a sound development stage. Last year, the output value of Guangxi's autos exceeded 200 billion yuan. There will be as many as seven new auto industry projects in Guangxi this year.
