Mineral Separation Method - Gravity Separation

Gravity separation method is a method of heavy sand separation and gravity beneficiation , which can be divided into manual panning, mechanical panning (shaker, vibrating chute, spiral chute, etc.), heavy liquid separation, heavy liquid centrifugation and the like.

A manual panning

Manual panning is a panning method that uses a panning tray to perform manual operations in water. It is the most commonly used method for separating minerals or enriching minerals. Minerals with different densities are subjected to external force in water to achieve separation. The method is simple in equipment, convenient in operation and low in cost.

The shaker is a method of separating minerals by using minerals with different density and particle size under a certain slope of the bed surface and lateral water flow flushing and reciprocating longitudinal asymmetric asymmetry of the bed surface. This method is suitable for enrichment and separation of a large number of samples. The shaker is divided into two types: mineral sand boring and mineral mud boring according to the size of the separated mineral. The ore shaker is suitable for samples with a particle size greater than 0.074 mm, and the mud shaker is used for selecting samples with a particle size less than 0.074 mm. . The conditions for sorting minerals by shaker include the following three aspects:

(1) Stroke and stroke: The stroke of the trampoline is generally 250-400 times per minute, and the stroke is 9 ~ 16 mm. The stroke and stroke of the shaker have a lot to do with the minerals selected. Generally, when the coarse fraction is sorted, the stroke is larger than when the fine-grained mineral is sorted, and the stroke is smaller than when the fine-grained mineral is sorted.

(2) Flushing water volume and bed inclination: The amount of flushing water and bed inclination are the main factors affecting mineral zoning. The bed tilt angle should be adjusted first when the mineral is separated.

(3) Feeding speed and water supply: The feeding speed and water supply will affect the fan-shaped zoning of the bed, and the feeding speed should be uniform and continuous. The amount of water supplied should be appropriate.

The chute has three kinds of vibrating chutes, spiral chutes and belt chutes, all of which are beneficiation re-election equipment . The belt chute is suitable for the coarse separation of minerals having a particle size of 0.15 to 0.074 mm. The vibrating chute and spiral chute are suitable for separating samples with a particle size of 0.074 ~ 0.025mm. The chute separation device is simple, convenient to operate, high in efficiency, and low in cost.

D heavy liquid separation

The mineral is placed in a liquid of a certain density. If the density of the mineral is greater than the density of the liquid, the mineral sinks; if the density of the mineral is less than the density of the liquid, the mineral floats on the surface of the liquid. This allows for the selection of a range of liquids of different densities to separate minerals of different densities. Heavy liquid separation most commonly there are three heavy liquid methyl bromide (density of 2. 89g / cm3), tetrabromo acetylene (density 2.97g / cm3), diiodomethane (density of 3. 32g / cm3), Du nematic liquid (density is 3.20g/cm3) and so on. Heavy liquid separation is the most commonly used separation method in mineral separation work. Heavy liquid can separate the density of the minerals that cannot be separated by the panning method. However, the cost of heavy liquid is relatively expensive and cannot be used in large quantities. The sample needs to be enriched by panning or magnetic separation before being separated by heavy liquid, and then separated by heavy liquid. The other is that heavy liquids are highly toxic and should be separated under well ventilated conditions. Part of the heavy liquid should be stored in a dark place.

E heavy liquid centrifugal separation

When the heavy liquid is separated, the particle size of the sample to be separated is greater than 0. 074 mm, and the sample separation effect is less than 0. 074 mm. If a sample with a particle size of less than 0.074 mm is to be separated, it is separated by a centrifuge. Heavy liquid centrifugation is a method of accelerating the separation of minerals in a heavy liquid by means of centrifugal force.
