On March 29th, the 2nd Military Logistics Academic Forum and Equipment Logistics Development and Application Seminar took place at the Beijing Fengtai Armored Force Engineering College. The event attracted high-level representatives from national ministries, the General Armament Department of the People's Liberation Army, the General Logistics Department, as well as leaders from the Chinese Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, the China Logistics Association, and the China Logistics Technology Association. Additionally, ZTE’s RFID Research Institute, along with leading logistics system integrators and equipment manufacturers, showcased their latest innovations at the event.
The military leadership showed strong interest in ZTE’s products, particularly its RFID solutions. As one of the few Chinese companies with independent intellectual property rights in RFID technology, ZTE RFID received significant attention during the forum. A customized visual solution for military traffic was especially praised by military experts. Colonel Xu Dong, an experienced military logistics researcher, stated: “Zhongxing’s solution has effectively addressed the limitations of traditional logistics information collection. By leveraging the inherent advantages of RFID technology, it has significantly improved overall logistics efficiency.â€
Dujiang, Director of ZTE Tianjin Research Institute, delivered a comprehensive speech on the optimization of military logistics. ZTE’s RFID visualization solution has enhanced operational efficiency across multiple aspects of military logistics. It establishes a standardized material information platform, integrating internal and external material data and demand information. Using RFID identification technology, it enables more detailed material management, improves response speed, simplifies scheduling, and enhances tracking and recycling processes.
Moreover, ZTE’s RFID solution utilizes high-security fixed storage readers and mobile smart handheld terminals for automatic and accurate mass data collection. Low-cost custom electronic tags are used to meet the large-scale needs of military materials. Based on the material information platform, it facilitates the collection, processing, transmission, and analysis of warehouse data. It also tracks forklifts and vehicles using RFID tags, improving accuracy through the box-tray relationship in shipments.
Security is a top priority in ZTE’s RFID military logistics solution. The system employs a secure and reliable static and dynamic key authentication strategy. It uses RFID tags with independent intellectual property rights and integrates multiple monitoring systems to optimize safety at critical points, ensuring the confidentiality and security of military material information.
ZTE’s Market Engineer demonstrated its software for the Chief of the Army. By setting up an open interoperable platform, ZTE customized a standard RFID material data format for the military. It batched original material identification, shared internal and external data between the military and suppliers, and improved procurement, production, and distribution efficiency. Real-time data exchange allows remote tracking, monitoring, and analysis of batches and inventory, delivering high-quality data directly to decision support systems.
General Wang Zongxi and Dujiang had a cordial conversation, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the military and industry. The ZTE RFID solution showcased at the event demonstrated the vast potential of RFID technology in military logistics and related fields, offering new ideas for broader RFID applications. Other exhibitors also presented their unique capabilities, contributing to the military’s overall enhancement of information technology.
Yan Weizhong, President of the China Logistics Technology Association and one of the forum organizers, remarked: “This forum aims to create a communication platform between the military and manufacturers. With clear military requirements and advanced information programs displayed by various manufacturers, we believe this forum will become a key hub in the modernization of military logistics, supporting the advancement of science and technology.â€
