Within five years, the import and export of mechanical and electrical products will reach US$360 billion

Zhou Keren, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, said on April 2 at the national electromechanical products import and export conference that during the “10th Five-Year Plan” period (2001--2005), the total import and export volume of China's machinery and electronic products will reach US$360 billion, of which exports will be maintained. The growth rate of 12% will strive to reach 180 billion U.S. dollars by 2005.

Zhou Keren said that in the next five years, China's exports of electromechanical products will continue to shift to high-tech and high-value-added products, actively create products with independent intellectual property rights and own national brands, and strive to expand the export of complete sets of equipment and high-tech mechanical and electrical products. . During the "10th Five-Year Plan" period, high-tech mechanical and electrical products will grow at an average annual rate of 20%, and will reach $90 billion in 2005.
