On December 20th, at the docking meeting of the graphene application results held in Rong, the Sichuan Institute of Graphene Applied Technology was announced. The relevant person in charge of the Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission said that this is the first graphene application technology research institute in our province, which will help promote the cooperation between industry, universities and research institutes and promote the graphene industry to become bigger and stronger.
The institute is controlled by Sichuan Jueneng Renhe New Materials Co., Ltd., Southwest Petroleum University and Daying Jueneng Technology Development Co., Ltd., and will set up branches in Suining and Electronic Science and Technology University, mainly engaged in graphene terminals from “sample to productâ€. Applied technology research and industrialization, there are currently three research projects, and it is expected to be industrialized within three to five years.
Graphene is a two-dimensional crystal that is peeled off from graphite materials. It is called the “king of new materials†as the newest nanomaterial that is the thinnest, strongest, and most conductive and thermally conductive. At the meeting, the Provincial Graphene Industry Development Promotion Group revealed that the graphene industry in our province started earlier and engaged in more than 50 related R&D units, ranking at the domestic advanced level. It is estimated that the output value of graphene industry in our province will reach 150 million yuan this year, up 150% year-on-year; the number of related patents is 536, double the number of last year, ranking first in the west and eighth in the country.
Qi Zhanyi, vice chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and the first deputy head of the Provincial Graphene Industry Development Promotion Group, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
