Earlier this year, Huntley’s previous Pierce quint was sold to the Shavertown Fire Department in Pennsylvania. The department had been using the 2002 Pierce Dash 105 quint for several years, but as the community grew and the demand for faster response increased, it became clear that a newer, more capable unit was needed.
On Saturday, July 21, 2013, at the recommendation of the truck committee, the fire department unanimously voted to purchase a used 2002 Pierce Dash 105 quint equipped with a 2000 gpm pump and a 500-gallon water tank. This new apparatus will replace the aging unit and serve as the first due truck company alongside Back Mt. Regional Fire. It is expected to be put into service in early October, following its arrival in September.
