New truck for Huntley FPD

The Huntley Fire Protection District has officially received their new 103-foot SpartanERV quint. This state-of-the-art apparatus is set to enhance the department’s response capabilities and serve the growing community with greater efficiency. The unit was delivered recently, marking an important milestone for the district. Below are some of the photos from the delivery:

Earlier this year, the Huntley FPD sold their previous fire truck—a 2002 Pierce Dash 105 quint—to the Shavertown Fire Department in Pennsylvania. That decision was made after a thorough evaluation by the truck committee, and it was approved unanimously on July 21, 2013. The old unit, equipped with a 2000 GPM pump and a 500-gallon water tank, had been serving as the primary first-due engine for Back Mt. Regional Fire and was no longer sufficient to meet the needs of the expanding community. The new SpartanERV will be put into service in early October, following its arrival in September. It's expected to significantly improve response times and operational flexibility for the district. Here's a photo of the Shavertown Fire Department with their new Pierce quint:
