On March 31, the German media said that automakers Audi Motors and Mercedes-Benz had to recall nearly 1 million vehicles in China. This was announced by the China General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on its website on March 28.
According to the German "Business Daily" website reported on March 29, the recall involved 572,000 Audi Q5 and SQ5 series cars, their skylights may leak, in extreme cases will cause airbag problems. The cars recalled by Volkswagen's subsidiary Audi include 556,196 Chinese-made cars and 16,226 imported cars.
Mercedes-Benz must recall 398,000 vehicles of all types because the associated vehicle starter current limiter cannot withstand overload under certain short-circuit conditions, and in extreme cases the components around the start-up restrictor may be ignited. These cars include 348,939 Chinese-made cars and 49,490 imported cars.
As early as March of this year, Mercedes-Benz recalled about 308,000 cars in the United States because of the same problem, and recalled about 150,000 cars in Germany.
Mercedes-Benz wants to install insurance for the starter harness of the vehicle within the recall range to eliminate safety hazards. It is said that it takes about one hour to install insurance.
