Lanzhou made Asia's first helicopter hoisting rig

Lanzhou has made remarkable achievements in the field of equipment manufacturing, creating numerous "National Firsts" and once again setting a new global standard by developing the world's third and Asia's first advanced drilling rig. On September 16, when this cutting-edge Lanzhou rig was presented to industry experts, they were deeply impressed. According to recent reports, the helicopter hoisting rig is set to be delivered to Papua New Guinea soon, with the second unit already entering the production phase. As one of China's largest oil drilling and refining equipment production bases, the Lanzhou Petrochemical General Factory has taken on numerous national and ministerial-level major projects. In December 2000, the oil drilling rig department of Lanshi Group formed a joint venture with U.S.-based National Oil Well International Co., Ltd., establishing Lanzhou Lanshi National Oil Well Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. Meanwhile, the Refining and Chemical Equipment Manufacturing and Thermal Processing Department partnered with China Huarong Production Management Co., Ltd. to form Lanzhou Lanshi Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. The group also operates 11 wholly-owned or holding subsidiaries and 8 branch companies, with its Lanshi Import and Export Company enjoying independent import and export rights. Products are exported to countries such as the United States, Japan, Argentina, and the UAE. The first helicopter hoisting rig in Lanzhou was developed by the joint venture company, Lanzhou Lanshi National Oil Well Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. In mid-April this year, the rig base was successfully lifted and tested at a well site. Designed for tropical jungle and rainforest environments, it features a compact footprint, quick installation, and minimal environmental impact. According to the company's officials, the rig was equipped with over $17 million worth of advanced technology, with the overall design led by the Lanshi Group and instrumentation sourced from the United States. The helicopter hoisting rig is now nearing completion, with the main unit expected to accelerate progress after the derrick, base, and top drive are installed. Today, the Lanzhou rig—world’s third and Asia’s first—will be shipped to Papua New Guinea, marking another milestone in China's industrial innovation.
