Beta-cypermethrin market supply shortage

Beta-cypermethrin has been effective in preventing and controlling rice leaf roller as it has been used together with organophosphorus pesticides since 2005, resulting in a shortage of market supply and a large profit margin, which has attracted many manufacturers to participate in the production of beta-cypermethrin. In the second half of 2006, due to oversupply and disorderly competition among enterprises, the price of each company was declining, and the sales price fell from 140,000 to 150,000 yuan/ton to 13 million yuan/ton. Some production companies shut down or stop production after entering the off-season. In 2007, high-toxicity pesticides such as methamidophos were withdrawn from the market, the use of beta cypermethrin was expanded, domestic demand soared, and exports also increased at the same time. In addition, raw materials were in short supply, and high-efficiency cypermethrin prices were raised. At the beginning of 2007, the price of high-efficiency cyanogens per tonne was quoted at 125,000 yuan, while the price per tonne at the end of June reached 240,000 yuan. Sales in 2008 will continue to be positive, and due to the increase in raw material prices, sales prices will be higher than in 2007.
