After entering the new century, China’s truck industry has experienced a full-scale development of heavy, medium and light trucks, especially heavy and light truck companies. In 2010, the country produced and sold 3.902 million and 3.86 million trucks, an increase of 28.19% and 29.90%, respectively.

From January to August 2011, the sales volume of domestic heavy trucks was 651,600, a decrease of 9.4% from the same period of 2010; sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks were 844,500, a decrease of 6.7% from the same period of 2010. The three main reasons have contributed to the negative growth in the commercial vehicle market: First, the withdrawal of stimulus policies has affected the purchasing enthusiasm of consumers. In the first two years, the state has introduced the implementation of the national III standard, purchase tax policy, and investment of 4 trillion yuan, which has resulted in serious consumption of commercial vehicles in advance. With the gradual withdrawal of relevant policies, the commercial vehicle market has become sluggish. Second, slower economic growth and tightening monetary policy have also affected the commercial vehicle market. Finally, rising oil prices are making consumers more willing to purchase heavy-duty, medium- and heavy-duty trucks. cautious. However, the commercial vehicle market will not continue to deteriorate, and road transport is still the main mode of transportation.

Although the long-term growth of China's commercial vehicle market is facing challenges, opportunities still exist. With the further expansion of China's highway network, the total length of the highway has reached 4.5 million kilometers, and the national highway network has also reached 108,000 kilometers, covering more than 90% of the urban population of more than 200,000 cities. During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, the logistics industry will build about 200 logistics parks or road freight hubs with integrated logistics service functions in 260 national road transport hub cities, strengthening the convergence with other transportation methods such as railways and waterways, and the industrial parks. , commercial shopping malls, international ports effectively docked. All these will bring many opportunities for commercial vehicles.

As the leading truck industry event in China, the 2011 China (Jinan) International Truck and Components Exhibition is bound to contribute to the further development of the industry.
