According to the analysis of the association, at present, due to rising energy prices, new chemical materials with high added value as well as bio-diesel and coal chemical industries with alternative energy sources have entered the stage of high investment growth. However, these areas have their own problems. China's new chemical material industry has begun to take shape, and it has strong international competitiveness in a few areas. However, compared with advanced countries, China still has the disadvantages of insufficient production capacity, poor product quality, low product specifications, and lack of serialization. Many important products and high-performance products still need to be imported, making them vulnerable to dumping and suppression by foreign companies. . It is understood that in 2008 the Petrochemical Association will strengthen its follow-up analysis of the new chemical material industry, and timely put forward opinions on industrial market access conditions and industrial restructuring. The biggest problem faced by biodiesel is insufficient supply of raw materials. On the one hand, the potential for producing biodiesel from edible waste oil is limited. On the other hand, direct use of oil resources to extract oils and fats does not justify the production of biodiesel and is not in line with China's national conditions. This source of raw materials determines the high production cost of biodiesel in China. New energy heat has, to a certain extent, promoted the development of the coal chemical industry. The possible excess of production capacity and the similarity of industrial routes have become issues that cannot be ignored.
Therefore, the association will capture the hot, difficult and sensitive issues in the economic operation of the industry and guide rational investment in the industry as the top priority for next year's work. The association also put forward three tasks that must be done to strengthen monitoring of economic operations: First, do a good job in building information channels. In addition to consolidating and improving existing channels, we must focus on strengthening more than 40 professional associations, local trade associations, and industry offices, as well as large ones.
