REV Group announces electric fire truck

REV Fire Group, a division of REV Group Inc., a leading manufacturer of specialty vehicles and related aftermarket parts and services, has made a major announcement. They are set to launch the first fully electric fire truck designed specifically for North American fire departments.
This groundbreaking vehicle was developed in partnership with Emergency One Group LTD, the company behind the world’s first EV fire truck. The new model is equipped with 316 kW of high-performance automotive-grade batteries, offering the longest electric pumping duration available in the industry. This means that fire departments can now operate both driving and pumping functions entirely on electricity.
"Our advanced battery system allows us to complete a full NFPA pump test while also providing a safer, lower center of gravity," said Roger Lackore, Senior Director of Product Development at REV Fire Group Engineering. In cases where extended operation is needed—such as during long-duration incidents or blackouts—a range-extender diesel engine serves as a backup power source.

Available for delivery starting in 2022, the truck features a North American design and offers full customization to suit each department's specific requirements. Built using locally sourced components, it ensures easy access to replacement parts, helping keep equipment in top working condition.
