Abstract: Fundamentals of Precession Vortex Gas Flowmeters When fluid flowing in an axial direction enters a flow sensor, the blade forces the fluid to rotate, thus creating a vortex in the center of the vortex shedding. The vortex flow swirls in the Venturi tube and reaches the constriction section where sudden throttling accelerates the vortex flow.

The microprocessor in the flowmeter can perform temperature and pressure compensation according to the gaseous equations and automatically perform compression factor corrections.
