My scientists have created a new technology for uranium reservoir location prediction

Guided the exploration of uranium deposits in the Tuha Basin and the Ordos Basin, saving the country more than 1.5 billion yuan in exploration funds.

Professor Jiao Yangquan from the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Resources College and others created a key technology for the exploration and development of sandstone-type uranium deposits - uranium reservoir location prediction. Recently, at the appraisal meeting organized by the Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province, experts such as Academician Rong Rongfu of the Chinese Academy of Engineering highly praised the results, and believed that the results had a major breakthrough in theory and method technology, and the application effect was remarkable.

This research result not only makes the world sandstone-type uranium mineralization theory and location prediction technology to a new level, but also has initially demonstrated great economic and social benefits: effectively guiding the exploration of uranium deposits in the Tuha Basin and the Ordos Basin. Work, save the country more than 1.5 billion yuan in exploration funds, and create potential economic value of more than 10 billion yuan.

It is reported that uranium mine is a strategic energy resource that is related to national security and is in short supply. In the past, sandstone-type uranium mines have not received much attention due to their low grade, but they are usually large. From the late 1980s to the early 1990s, China's uranium exploration has undergone a major transformation from hard rock to sandstone, and large sandstone-type uranium bases such as the Ili Basin, the Tuha Basin and the Ordos Basin have been established.

Previously, reservoir research was generally used for oil and gas exploration. The project team led by Professor Jiao Yangquan first proposed the concept of “uranium reservoir”, which provides space for uranium ore-forming fluid migration and uranium deposit storage in sedimentary basins. The project team also systematically studied uranium reservoir identification, spatial location, genetic interpretation, internal structure and quality analysis, and deeply analyzed the formation mechanism of sandstone-type uranium deposits from the perspective of sedimentology. The basic principles and technical ideas of the “Uranium Reservoir” have been successfully applied to the exploration of uranium deposits in the Middle-Cenozoic sedimentary basins in northern China, and breakthroughs have been made.

Urban Bike Helmet

Urban Bike Helmet for protecting people to ride a bike in the urban city. This helmet is made of carbon fiber which makes it very lightweight and does not absorb as much wind pressure with any other type helmets. The inner side cap includes removable ear clips so when riding outside you can turn your head around allowing you better view over road terrain on high speed bicycles. Other features include chin straps, back padding (to protect riders neck from falls) and safety pads that are easy enough even children under 13 could use them without complaint.

Our bike helmet are always being designed with ergonomics, cyclists and pedestrians can be more safe when wearing helmets that are up-to date with current guidelines. The cyclical fit allows them much better protection from blows as well!
