2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-17-23

The Chicago Fire Department tackled a high-priority fire at a one-story commercial warehouse on the West Side of the city on Tuesday morning. The blaze broke out in a building located on the 4500 block of West Fulton Street and quickly escalated into an extra-alarm situation.
The fire burned for over an hour, with the Chicago Fire Department (CFD) reporting that it was "struck" around 7:45 a.m. More than 100 firefighters were deployed to the scene, and although no one was inside the building, the structure suffered significant damage, including the collapse of its roof.
The business previously operating out of the warehouse was American Masonry and Supply, and the company's representative was on site Tuesday morning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the fire remained contained within the warehouse, without spreading to neighboring buildings.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, but initial reports suggest it was under control by mid-morning. CFD crews continued working at the scene to ensure full containment and to begin the cleanup process.
