What is the screening efficiency? How to calculate?

The sieving efficiency refers to the ratio of the weight of the under-slung product actually obtained at the time of sieving to the weight of the granules which is smaller than the size of the mesh in the sieving material, and is generally expressed as a percentage.

Calculation formula E=[100(ab)]/a(100-b)] ×100%

Where: a - the fraction of the sieve material that is smaller than the size of the sieve pore size;

B—the fraction of the size of the sieve on the sieve that is smaller than the size of the sieve;

E—Screening efficiency %.

Calculation example: a selected plant uses a vibrating sieve with a mesh size of 16 mm to perform pre-screening before fine screening. When the screening efficiency is measured, the content of the sieve material is less than 16 mm and the content is 61.2%. The content of the product in the fraction of less than 16 mm is 15.26%, and the screening efficiency is:

E=[100(ab)]/a(100-b)] ×100%=[100(61.2-15.26)]/[61.2(100-15.26)] ×100%
