In the past 10 years, the comprehensive economic strength in the western region has greatly increased. While affirming achievements, some deficiencies should also attract sufficient attention. Railways and highway networks are thin, and the total mileage of comprehensive transportation facilities only accounts for 1/3 of the country. The density of transportation networks is only 1/2 of the national average. The National Development and Reform Commission recently announced that the state plans to start 23 new key projects this year in the development of the western region, with a total investment of 682.2 billion yuan. The heavy truck companies in the western region will have more opportunities, including Shaanxi Auto, SAIC Iveco Hongyan and Bei Ben heavy trucks. First of all, these automobile enterprises have obvious geographic advantages. They understand the car environment and the consumption environment in the west. They can take the lead in R&D and promotion of applicable models. Secondly, the Steyr platform heavy trucks of these companies are more efficient than their counterparts. Other domestic heavy truck brands are more suitable for the western region.

With the deepening of the western development, the exchange of materials between the east and the west will become increasingly frequent, which will promote the development of the logistics and transportation industry. On the other hand, the environment in the western region is relatively fragile. The products of heavy-duty truck companies must be full of articles on environmental protection and energy conservation, reduce pollution to the local environment, and must not make the heavy trucks as production materials destroy the environment while creating revenues.
