Excerpts from woodtv.com:
Hundreds of police officers and firefighters from across the Midwest joined community members in Kalamazoo on Wednesday to honor Comstock Township Fire Chief Ed Switalski, who was struck and killed by a vehicle during an emergency call last week. The event was a powerful display of respect, unity, and gratitude.
The chief was laid to rest with full honors, including the presentation of a duty medal, a bell ceremony, taps, a flag folding, a 21-gun salute, and his final call — a tradition that symbolizes the end of a firefighter’s service. Every speaker at the funeral, whether family or friend, highlighted the same quality about Switalski: a selfless heart.
"He always cared about others," said his niece. "He was there for my Auntie Holly when she had breast cancer, and he even donated his kidney to his nephew Christopher when he needed one." His legacy of kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Switalski leaves behind a wife and two daughters, one of whom shared her thoughts during the funeral. “I am also honored to be the last family member to have seen and spoken to him,†said Emily Switalski. “Before every call, my mom, my sister, and I would say, ‘I love you. Be safe.’ Those were the last words I ever said to him.â€
Before the final call, hundreds of firefighters from Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois — where Switalski spent over 30 years before becoming chief in Comstock Township in 2013 — took part in the funeral procession. A restored 1937 fire truck carried his body 24 miles through downtown Kalamazoo and Comstock Township to Wings Event Center, followed by nearly 200 fire engines.
Members of the public lined the streets to show their gratitude. The procession continued past Comstock’s three fire stations, where Battle Creek firefighters stood in place of the local crew, covering the stations so they could attend the funeral. None of them had met Switalski, but they volunteered their time out of respect and admiration.
"It's a great honor to cover this station for these firefighters and their chief," said BCFD Lt. Lamar Mingle. "We wanted to do our part to support them."
Gov. Rick Snyder ordered all U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Switalski, a fitting tribute to a man who gave everything for his community.
Thanks Dan

Lab Vibrating Pulverizer Grinding Mill
Lab sealed vibration grinding mill, lab pulveriser
The sealed pulverizer/sample splitters is a small lab grinding machine for grinding the ore/material samples into powder, which has been widely used in the laboratory of the geology, mining, metallurgy, coal, power, chemistry and building industries, for the none pollution sample testing.
lab pulveriser Application:
Mining: For processing coal, ores or minerals for physical or chemical analysis
Metallurgy: For grinding blast furnace slag or cast iron samples to determine additives needed.
Infrared and x-ray fluorescence analysis: For preparing samples with a short grinding time without contamination through undesired abrasion.
Ceramics: For grinding rock samples to produce raw powder to determine CaO3 amd MgCO3 content or clinkers to study the constancy of the mineralogical structure
