We're excited to introduce Brush 95! The Momence Fire Department received the new brush truck on Saturday, October 21st. This state-of-the-art vehicle was built by 1st Attack Engineering Inc. in Indiana. Brush 95 is a 2017 Ford F-550 equipped with a 300-gallon water tank, a 350-GPM Darley fire pump, dual man-wells behind the cab, and front spray nozzles. It's designed specifically for wildland firefighting and meets all current NFPA safety standards.
This new unit replaces an older Chevy 3500 that had been in service for nearly 20 years. The previous truck came with a 250-gallon tank and a 200-GPM fire pump. While it served its purpose well, the new Brush 95 offers significant improvements in performance, safety, and functionality.
Some of the key upgrades include higher ground clearance, front spray nozzles for better control during wildfires, “Man-Wells†for safer access, Rigid scene lighting, a 5-gallon foam cell with a Scotty inductor, and storage compartments with built-in lighting. These features make Brush 95 more versatile and efficient in a variety of emergency situations.
It’s always exciting to see the department modernize and invest in better equipment for our community. A big thank you to Hunter for sharing the photos and keeping us updated on this important milestone!
