New ambulance for Kankakee

Congratulations to Chief Damon Schuldt and the entire team at the Kankakee Fire Department on the arrival of their brand-new 2017 Wheeled Coach Type I ambulance! This state-of-the-art unit is built on a Ford F450 4×4 chassis and features a Liquid Spring suspension system for a smoother ride, advanced Whelen LED emergency lighting, and our custom "Coolbar" HVAC system designed to keep both crew and patients comfortable in all weather conditions.
This marks KFD's first ever Wheeled Coach ambulance, and we're thrilled to be part of this exciting milestone. We'd like to extend a warm welcome to the Fire Service family and appreciate the trust they've placed in us. More photos will be shared once the unit is fully lettered and ready for service. Wear-resisting steel plate is composed of low Carbon Steel Plate and alloy wear-resisting layer. When working, the matrix provides comprehensive properties such as strength, toughness and plasticity of resisting external forces, and the alloy wear-resistant layer provides wear-resistant properties that meet the requirements of specified working conditions.
Wear-resisting steel alloy wear-resisting layer and base plate are metallurgical combination. By means of special equipment and automatic welding process, the high-hardness self-protecting alloy wire is uniformly welded on the substrate, and the composite layers are one to two or even more. In the composite process, due to the different shrinkage ratio of the alloy, uniform transverse cracks appear, which is a significant feature of the wear-resistant steel plate.
