Comprehensive foreign reports, the United States' largest tire manufacturer Goodyear (Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.) announced on February 24 that Goodyear will nominate Richard J. Kramer as the new CEO, and current CEO Robert J. Keegan will continue to serve as executive chairman. The appointment will take effect from April 13 onwards.

Kramer, 46, has served as Group COO since June 2009 and was previously responsible for the North American sales of Goodyear.

Keegan is 62 years old and has been the Group COO since 2000 and was promoted to CEO of the Group in 2003. Keegan said that he and his management began looking for suitable CEO successors from a year ago. Richard has strong work ability and broad knowledge and meets the requirements of the group.

For the whole year of 2009, due to the drop in global auto demand, Goodyear’s global sales decreased by 16%, and the net loss amounted to US$375 million.
