Training for propane fires

Firefighters from several suburban departments in the north and northwest recently had a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills through specialized training on propane fires. These sessions provided hands-on experience and real-world preparation for handling dangerous gas-related emergencies.

Tim Olk was present at the training held in Highland Park, where fire departments from Glencoe, Highland Park, Libertyville, and Lake Bluff participated. The exercises involved setting up controlled propane fires to simulate real-life scenarios, allowing firefighters to practice their response techniques under realistic conditions.

Larry Shapiro joined the training event in Buffalo Grove, where departments from Wheeling, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Long Grove, Mundelein, and Libertyville came together for a joint session. This collaboration allowed for shared learning and improved coordination among neighboring fire agencies.
