This technology has solved the problems that have plagued the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet railway for more than 40 years, and has also protected the natural ecological environment and resources of the frozen earth area. At present, low-temperature hot rods have been designated as the only technical reserves for the treatment of frozen damage to the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
Guo Hongxin told reporters that his opportunity actually came from a television program. In 2002, when Guo Hongxin watched the “Dialogue” section of the CCTV, the topic of this issue was just about the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The thickness of the ice in the Kekexili section reaches tens of meters or even hundreds of meters all the year round. Frozen soil freezes in winter and disappears in summer. The roadbed is extremely unstable. The key to the success of the Qinghai-Tibet railway construction is to solve the problem of frozen soil, which is a world-class engineering problem.
At the end of 2002, Guo Hongxin sent his own researched and developed thermal rods to the Kokili Permafrost area for experiments and achieved initial results. After being commissioned by the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Engineering Command, Guo Hongxin organized scientific and technical personnel to engage in technical research and established the largest 18-meter-high heat pipe test stand in China and a production line that annually produced 100,000 heat bars, and developed a national patent with excellent performance. The product "low temperature hot rod with central temperature measuring tube" has undergone special anti-corrosion treatment and its service life can reach more than 30 years. Subsequently, entrusted by the Ministry of Railways' Qinghai-Tibet Railway Headquarters, Zhongsheng Group was responsible for drafting the “Technical Guidelines for Using Hot Rods in the Permafrost Engineering of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway” standard.
In the frozen area of ​​Hoh Xil, Guo Hongxin and his team instructed the construction staff to insert a hot rod at a depth of 7 to 8 meters. When the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was opened on July 1, 2006, tens of thousands of hot rods had been neatly arranged on both sides of the railway. In the next few years, hot-rods will be inserted step by step in the 550-kilometer permafrost zone. This is the first large-scale use of hot-rod technology in China to solve the problem of stability of the subgrade in permafrost railways in high-altitude cold regions.
Guo Hongxin said that the hot rod cooling technology is a system that uses liquid-vapor conversion convection and circulation to achieve heat transfer, and is the device with the highest heat transfer efficiency in a passive cooling system. It has the characteristics of large heat transfer capacity, small heat transfer temperature difference, low start temperature, good temperature uniformity performance, one-way heat transfer, safety and economy, etc. This kind of one-way thermal conductivity thermal rod has a heat transfer rate of 1000 copper rods. ~10000 times. In China, permafrost accounts for 22.3% of the country's land area and ranks third in the world, among which high-altitude permafrost area ranks the highest in the world. Hot-rod technology effectively solves the problem of subsidence and subsidence of roadbed in permafrost regions in summer. It can save more than 30 million yuan per km for the bridge-generation road, and it can save more than 1 billion yuan if only the total investments of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway adopt hot-rod technology.
