Firefighters from Wheeling and Prospect Heights responded to an outdoor fire at 25 Versailles Court on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. Wheeling Engine 23 arrived first and reported flames on the “D†side of the house, which led to the alarm being upgraded to a working fire. The fire spread quickly, engulfing the west side of the home and an adjacent structure, with flames reaching the second floor. There was concern about potential exposure to the neighboring house on the “D†side, but the fire was contained, causing only minor damage to the vinyl siding of the nearby residence.
Multiple fire lines were deployed, and Tower 24 was sent to the roof for additional support. Within 15 minutes, the fire was under control and fully contained. The quick response and coordination between units played a key role in preventing further damage.
Mutual aid was provided by departments from Mount Prospect, Buffalo Grove, Northbrook, Glenview, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and the North Maine Fire Protection District. Their assistance was vital in managing the incident efficiently and safely.
