Vehicles within the scope of this recall may cause aging of the relevant components when the vehicle fuel tank and/or fuel vapor pipe are exposed to high temperatures at the bottom of the vehicle for a long period of time, which may result in fuel leakage. In addition, this situation may also cause the aging of the parking brake cable seal, which may affect the parking brake function. Leakage of fuel that occurs near a fire source increases the risk of fire, and a degraded parking brake function can cause an unexpected vehicle movement, posing a safety risk. Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. will replace the fuel tank protection cover for the vehicles within the recall range, install the insulation block on the fuel tank and fuel tank protection cover, install the parking brake cable insulation block, and install the fuel steam pipe insulation. Volumes to eliminate hidden dangers, inventory vehicles will be sold after eliminating hidden dangers.
